Dendrobium Aussie (Micro) Chip is the primary hybrid of Dendrobium aberrans and Dendrobium normanbyense, two Papua New Guinea species from the Latouria section. The hybrid had a name change from Dendrobium Aussie Chip to Dendrobium Micro Chip after a taxonomic adjustment to one of its parent species.
As with many primary hybrids, Dendrobium Aussie (Micro) Chip is a very vigorous grower and flowers prolifically. This orchid is in a 4″ pot and had 12 flower spikes when photographed. We grow Dendrobium Aussie (Micro) Chip intermediate (57F nights in winter) and partially shaded with dappled eastern light.
